Wolsey-Wessington School District

Recently, the school board approved 6th graders for middle school sports, and we want to clear up what this means. There will be a few sports that will be low enough in numbers that they will not be able to field a team. This will only be on an emergency basis year-to-year if numbers drop too low at the middle school level. As of right now for this fall season the following sports will allow 6th grade students to participate: MS boys/girls Cross Country and MS Football. We will evaluate again in the winter and spring. Again, this is only for students to field a team for that season. Thank you for your understanding. Please reach out to Mr. Kemnitz or Mr. Donovan if you have questions.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer! Last night at the board meeting the school board made a resolution to go from 7 board members to 5 board members. In order for this resolution to pass, there will be a public vote on August 5th. If you have any questions about this, please feel free to call the school. We will send out more information closer to that date. Also, the following coaching positions are open: Head Football Assistant Football (2 positions) Head Boys Basketball Assistant Boys Basketball Middle School Volleyball The following teaching positions are open as well: CTE Ag or Construction. Hello everyone this is Mr. Donovan. First off, I want to thank everyone for a great year! We are proud to have an exceptional staff and outstanding students who truly make our district one of the best. Construction officially began today on the track, football field, and playground! The playground will be locked, but the preschool park will still be open to the public. The football field and track will be completely off-limits. Thank you for your understanding, and we will send another message when everything opens up again.

On May 3rd around 1:50am these three vehicles went onto the football field and drove around it making significant damage to the field. If you have any information please contact Mr. Donovan. The sheriffs department is involved and is helping in this investigation.
