Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year at Wolsey-Wessington Middle School/High School. I'm thrilled to be a Warbird and eager to work with all of you as we embark on another year of your educational journey. We aim to provide a safe atmosphere where students can succeed and prepare for the rapidly changing society. SOAR has become integral to our school culture. This year, we will continue our SOAR motto, and the rewards await those who consistently put forth their best effort and behavior!
Creating a positive and respectful culture is a top priority and starts with the leadership of our middle and high school students. Please remember to set strong examples of SOAR on and off campus. Your leadership helps mold our younger students and foster their success. All of us—your teachers, administrators, and support staff—have high expectations for you. We're committed to providing the academic skills you need for your future and guiding you to have character traits essential for lifelong success.
Show integrity: Demonstrating honesty, fairness, and ethical behavior in all aspects of academic and personal life.
Own your learning: It is your personal responsibility to actively engage in the learning process, participate in class, complete assignments on time, and seek clarification when needed. Please set clear academic goals and be motivated to explore topics beyond what is taught in class. Reflect on learning experiences and identify areas for improvement.
Accept responsibility: Take ownership of one’s actions, decisions, and academic outcomes. Be reliable and dependable for your teachers and peers.
Respect yourself and others: Cultivate a positive sense of self, demonstrate empathy and understanding towards others, and positively contribute to your school and community.
Together we can SOAR and strive to be our best every day!
